ABOUT REACTION RACING

Established in 1982 as Turbo Vehicles Limited, Mike began applying his craft to any vehicle he could get his hands on. Excited by the prospect of being able to work on more demanding projects and push vehicles even further, Mike dedicated himself to perfecting the performance of every engine he worked on. This naturally led to him acquiring jobs that often required he travel as part of the crew for local and international drivers including Hayden Paddon, Cody Crocker, and Carl Hansen to name a few. This saw him working all over New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region, from Australia to Dubai to China and back.

Even since changing the company name to Reaction Racing, his experience with such drivers has afforded him the opportunity to work on only the most serious of jobs with the notion that Reaction Racing is for the extreme car enthusiast, hobbyist or professional. Though this positioning means Reaction Racing isn’t the place to “get blow-off valves on the cheap”, his 35 years of experience has meant that his work speaks for itself, creating leads and business for the last 20 plus years completely by word-of- mouth.

If that wasn’t enough to show how much of a no-nonsense kind of guy he is, asked why he doesn’t cater to a market that targets price over performance, you’d be lucky to get a glance before hearing him simply say, “Do it once, do it right!” enough said.

“I have been competitive motor racing for 22 years now and have been using Mike and Sue at Reaction Racing for a little over 20 years.  Over the last two decades with numerous lap records, race and series wins, they have been an invaluable part of my team.   Mikes knowledge and understanding of the workings of high performance vehicles is superb.  I completely trust Mike and Sue and the Team at Reaction Racing with all my engine tuning work and in Mike’s ability to squeeze out every last bit of reliable horse power from my engines!

Their commitment and professionalism are second to none and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.“
